which digital piano?

Post by nash »

:?: Dear all, fifteen years ago I played the piano to grade 5 standard, but then gave it up. I'd now at 33 like to start learning again and so would like to buy a digital piano, as they are more portable. Can anyone please give me advice as to which model I should buy? Any recommendations? Many thanks!

Kawai CA1000 has a good touch very much like the real thing, also the sound system is very good. the other contenders are

Roland HP 3
Yamaha Clavinova CP 150

All are good at what they do but are still not like the real thing

a bit pricey...

thanks the reply Barrie, however I think those are a bit out of my price range. I want to pay max about &800. Im looking at buying either the:

Kawai CN270
or
Technics SX-PC25
or
Roland HP1

Which of these do you think is best??

or I may go a bit further and pay more to get say a
Technics SX-PX663 for around &1000

Can you tell me, are the cheaper options above not really much good? Should I pay another couple of hundred and get a better model?
Do you think technics are good, or are Kawai the best?

Many thanks for any help you can give me. Its all a bit bewildering...

The Technics SX-PC25 has a nice Concert grand sound but the touch is very light compered to a real piano - so you may find it hard work if you have
to play real piano. Can't comment on the others as I have not looked at them .

The down site to all digital pianos is they lose value. I would play each one and go with the one you are happy with the usability of the keyboard with in your budget as you can upgrade later on
