It sounds to me like a holder for records. These come in many forms, but need to be strong enough to protect the old 78rpm discs. Being American firms, it is not likely we can help much from this side of the ocean.

It's not my website, and I have never managed it, but look at the instruction right at the top of the forum, or you can email them to me, but I can't post them!

Perhaps it's time that someone out there rephrased the instructions! I am a piano historian, not a computer wiz!

I've just added a new post .... "How to upload an image" .... on the history section. Follow the diagrams & images.

Hope that's helpful

hi all

thanks for the great info it was a tremendous help.....

someone today said that it is a advertising board or folder that the sales reps in the 40,s 50,s maybe even earlier used to take into peoples houses to sell pianos and musical instruments or gramophones .as they could not lug pianoes themselves lol...this seemed very logical to me so maybe we have the answer any thoughts thanks bob

It looks more like someone had a blank box, collected transfers of unrelated piano and gramophone names, and stuck them all over it, like some people do on guitars. I can't really get any impression of what the object looks like in size or shape.

A wild guess here, but it looks a bit like an advertising board that would go in a music shop window? selling pianos, gramaphones, sheet music etc. and yes, its looks very "homemade" .... so only really of any value to the shop. If it opens out into an "A" frame - this may have stood on a window sill?
