Dong Il - Faces in the veneer?

I'm sorry the pictures had to be deleted, they were too big. I have no information about this maker (I'm usually much further into the past!) but it has been quite common practise for a hundred years or more to match veneers in four pairs like this. You may see it as faces, but it is just wood grain, and has no meaning.
