Broadwood with German keyboard

Post by vernon »

I was surprised on a 1890-ish-ish Broadwood grand we have to find the keyframe stamped in a lozenge " Heinr. Bucholz Berlin"
I would have thought Broadwoods made their own. Bet Bill knows the answer!

Hmmm! I love a good lozenge! I know Buckholz or Bucholz made keys, but it is surprising to find them in a Broadwood. Why is it ish-ish? Doesn't the number date it?

1925 Bechstein grand has a Renner action, and the right-hand side of the bottom key is rubber- stamped "Heinr. Buckholz G.m.b.h. 8 Jan 1925"
