My Grandad's Brinsmead piano
Post by heartwalden »
Having recently moved in to my nan and grandad's house this summer home from university , in my boredom I became interested in their grand piano in their front room that is currently just collecting dust.
So far in my research I have found out it is a John Brinsmead grand piano, the address on it is 4 Wigmore Street, Cavendish Square. I located the serial number but am very confused, it reads 5705 and then below this it says 25?
Does that mean the serial number is 570525? This is one digit too many ?
It's made of rosewood as well.
If you could give me any information on this i would appreciate it?

If you read my Numbers page at www.pianogen.org you will see that the published dates of Brinsmead numbersare wrong. That particular address is useful, because it puts it around the 1860s, and the number suggests that it was made circa 1865. Is there any chance you could post photos here, or email them to me?
