Newbie Advice - Eavestaff Mini

Post by PianoP »

Hi,
I noticed a forum post on Eavestaff piano's a few months back and it was mentioned that a certain type was less valuable than another:

I was about to purchase this for £300, would you say that it would be worth it and would it be easy to tune?

Any help would be great!

Sometimes on these pianos, the tuning pins are in-line with the back end of the keys - since its a 'drop-action' - and will require a shorter ended tuning lever, unless tuned from the rear, where a back panel will need to be removed & tuning pins located under keyboard?. Which ever it is, just mention that its a mini Eavestaff so the tuner will be prepared. I tuned one recently (new customer - didnt tell me the make of piano), and a normal medium star lever wouldn't fit in the gap.... no prob, I nipped home and brought the rest of my levers.
