Piano history from 1730
Post by Bill Kibby »
I think the technology you are looking for here is a wood-based product, which is fashioned into something which (so I understand) is known as a "book". There are apparently loads of them available at libraries, covering the subject, which amounts to thousands of pages in my files.

As Bill said there are many books However, what you are manly looking at is the compass was increased - the use of steel over iron for strings (increased tension = better harmonics) also the use of cast iron frame the use of compressed wool (increased the power) the use of over stringing (spread the load on the soundboard thus increasing the sustain However, there are some who would disagree on that one also the way pianos were tuned, Also damping the difference in English and German had an effect onTrampy wrote:I'm an AS student studying music and i just got a homework question asking:
'Describe the developments of the piano from 1730 to present day' also 'List the musical capabilities of a modern piano and compare with earlier models' any help would be apreciated. cheers
