Steinway History

Post by pameladf »

Hello -- My grandfather has left a Steinway & Sons grand piano. I was interested in the age and likely value (I realize this is an estimate without seeing it) and would appreciate it if someone could refer me to a good appraiser in the Chicago, IL, area in the US. The serial number is M268354, and it is in good condition but with some scratches. Thank you!

This is the UK Piano Page, we have nolocal knowledge of Chicago, but it is fair to say that no-one anywhere will give you a valuation without on-the-spot inspection by a tuner-technician. See

Yes, I know. I just thought that perhaps someone might happen to have a US connection or be checking this page from the US (I used to live in the UK). Thank you anyway.
