Newsome Brothers
Post by david phillips »
Just got a newsome brothers piano. Trying to figure out how to find out date and Im not sure where to look. Its a upright piano. If any one has the info you can email me at davidinrichmond@sbcglobal.net.I did find a small label saying supplied by W.Mackerell Burney under the tag that says Newsome brothers . Just wondering if they ever put dates on pianos and where ?Thanks . Actually you are correct it is Burnley as in W. Mackerell Burnley.

Follow the link below. Newsome Brothers seem to have been quite short-lived, selling pianos from the 1890s to about 1910. It's unlikely they made the pianos themselves.

Is "burney" really BURNLEY - the address of Mackerel?
