Molineux, Molineaux or Molyneux

Post by Bill Kibby »

I have been in Manchester doing some research about Thomas Molineux's business, and noticed various references to Molineaux, Molyneux or Molineux as a description of a type of action, possibly a "Costa Action", although even that term has still not produced a proper definition. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who can shed further light on any of these names, or on the Costa action.

Hi!

It's probably not much use to you and I'm sure you've probably already found the answer you were looking for, (noit that I understood the 'Costa' bit), however I own a Molyneux piano and if you've not already seen/ owned one yourself, you're welcome to look at it, if it helps with your query.

I've not played it for ages and was only a beginner at that! I had to restore the case about 13 years ago due to a house break in and the case was vandalised by deep scratching, but my piano tuner say's the restoration is very good.

I'm half way between Manchester and Liverpool, as I say if it's any good to you I'll email a photo.

regards
