J. Strohmenger & Sons London???
Hi,
We have a J.Strohmenger & Sons London Piano yet we know little about it and would like to know whether anyone here would know anything as to its value?
Its condition is`nt great, could use some TLC but does seem to play ok apart from 3 or 4 keys dont work but could be repaired i think.
Any help appreciated or if anyone could provide links to specialist piano buyers in the UK that would be great!
Many thanks.

The only way to get an accurate assessment of your piano and its value (if any) is to contact your local piano tuner and get his/her expert opinion.
There is a list of suitably qualified piano tuners by area on this site (links at the left of this page) or via the Pianoforte Tuners' Association website http://www.pianotuner.org.uk.

If you take a look here you can see a general opinion on the make:

I am not a tuner but it doesn't sound very promising given your description of the condition.

Upload some photos of the inside and out and it will very easy to give a general valuation for you.
In general an old piano in poor physical condition with a few notes not working will not be worth a penny. Your best bet may be to give it away. For a more accurate response either
1. Upload photos here
or
2. Hire you local tech to inspect the piano for about £40-£60

If the piano is for a beginner to learn on get your local reputable tuner/tech to do a few repairs and tune to get it in working order for a few years. As to its value probably £0 in present condition, and not worth fully refurbishing.digibox wrote:Hi,

To me the piano wouldn't be worth a penny, and to many dealers it wouldn't. That's not to say that someone somewhere wont want it and offer you something for it.
