www.freepianos.co.uk
Post by MarkGoodwinPianos »
On a bit of whim I have just registered www.freepianos.co.uk
There is nothing there just yet but there could be room for some fun and goodwill through that domain.
The piano I just gave away to a fellow forum member has been delivered. Here is the photo
Recipient says that "she and 3 little ones" are loving it. I enjoyed doing it and the "customer" is obviously pleased. So I'm going to do it again.
I think it could work quite well if I setup a facebook fan page for the project and then whenever I get a piano in that I am willing to give away for free I would upload a photo to the facebook fanpage. I would have a facebook widget permanently embedded at www.freepianos.co.uk so that the latest photos will always be shown on the homepage.
And then see what happens. It could turn into a fun little project with potential for other dealers or piano owners to list their unwanted pianos.
I'll keep you posted

p.s. by taking the project to it's own domain, I will hopefully no longer be stepping on any toes regarding forum rules or etiquette.

I only just registered it so it won't be fully propagated yet.dave brum wrote:It just says 'cannot display the webpage' as a pose to 'this domain has been registered'
I've just realised what date it is today....
Don't worry, the project is real.

Excellent idea - speaking as someone who is fed up with trying to ressurect 'a really nice piano that was given to me which just needs a bit of tuning...'!
I play for my own amazement...
