Knight piano

Post by mike edwards »

I have just purchased a Knight piano. It is quite old and says "made in South Africa", the piano is a little art-deco-ish and has curved legs and a grille above the pedals a bit like a loudspeaker grille. The iron frame is stamped K16 and below that ho and serial number 13752. I'm interested if you could tell me the age and anything about the history. The piano plays really well and sounds beautiful. Thanks for any help, Mike Edwards.

The serial number would suggest 1954 - not however, made in S.Africa. It was made in the the Alfred Knight Granville Park works, Loughton Essex, England. A super classy looking little piano that was great to own. If it is in good condition .... look after it .... if it needs a little work (and you can afford getting it done) it'll be well worth it. Enjoy !!
