Where to buy a digital piano?
Hello everyone, I've recently decided i need to purchase my own digital piano, the acoustics i've previously had access to have been taken away and i cannot get an upright through my front door and down the corridoor into my living room- there just isn't enough space
I live Milton Keynes which is conveniently located close to London and on the M1. My question is: Where can I go that's close by that has a large selection of digital pianos i can try out at reasonable prices?
Thanks!

Try speaking to Joe Carroll at Kawai Pianos - based in Milton Keynes. They have a good range of digitals - the CL and CN range are a good start. Joe is the area Rep. and a great guy. Not sure of their phone number, but Mayomi also works there on Reception. Mention my name & area location, and they may be able to help.

Did you get a professional team to move your piano?
Seems strange that your piano would not fit through the front door - I moved a huge Carl Mand from my workshop, the front door had to come off at the other end - easy, and pianos if moved down a corridor, then a sharp left or right.... no piano will go through an entrance like that, they have to be 'up-ended' on piano wheels with the keyboard facing the doorway, then gradually turned & pivotted on the spot. Again, any pro team will be able to move your upright piano if you still have it.

Re: Where to buy a digital piano?
Thanks for the advice, the issue with a corridoor is not only that it's very narrow and has several sharp turns but also that i'm going to be moving out ~5 months time and don't know if i'll be moving somewhere suitable for a piano (still kind of doing student living).
What would be best for me is to get a digital piano that i know i can take wherever i end up moving. I'd also like to try out a large number of digital pianos before i buy!

Depending on what you want to pay, the Kawai ES6 is a good digital piano. Comes either with a portable stand or built-in casework & pedals. Roughly the piano is just over the 1K mark - about £1200, but if you decide to get the additional casework frame for it (with built-in pedals), its about an extra £200 - this is the price from a local piano shop I used to work in, so just a rough idea for you.
If you go for the portable version, it comes with a separate sustain pedal & lead (but not a soft & sostenuto pedal - thats the left & middle pedal) - and they may throw in a set of headphones. Very easy to assemble, and some include a carrying case.

At: http://yamaha-corporation.force.com/dealers/uk, you can find Yamaha dealers in your area. On this site, you can also have a look at the sort of keyboards available at the moment.
