Piano Lounge reunion
Perhaps being off for Christmas holidays has given me too much time to think about stuff but after some weeks of noticing that famous statistic displayed at the bottom of the forum page -
Most users ever online was 292 on Tue Jan 25, 2005 2:50 am
- I thought that it might be a good idea to arrange a Piano Lounge reunion and get as many people as possible to sign on and post onto a reunion thread?
We'd have to use PMs and arrange a specific day and time but it might be fun - could we topple that 292 figure? Not sure but it might be worth the craic anyway!

292!?!!
Logged on at the same time!?!
That's outrageous. Surely it's a glitch in the software that's created that stat.
If genuine, that's amazing
Also, why use PM? Just do it all out in the open

But sometimes when there are a lot of 'visitors' on together, some of them are some sort of spy thing rather than real people. Ask a grownup who knows about Infernal Machines...
I play for my own amazement...

That's when we got lots of American visitors Gooogle can now tell what part of the UK you are in and filter pages and ads to meet regional needs. it may ahve been the day we got voted site of the day by..... them in a US that make the big computers forgot what they are called Mr Gates made a lot of money out themmarkymark wrote:

Came to me the day after IBM
I believe I can do a mass email with this version of the phpbb but 5506 emails could put us in a black hole as spammers

It may be interesting to try it word of mouth first and make it an annual or biennial thing. Maybe using a bulkmail in future - not sure. Mind you, very few folks have expressed any interest in it so far!
I think the members list needs sorting out again Barrie. I remembered checking up a couple of weeks ago and there are quite a lot of members with 0 posts beside their names - I'm guessing that most of these are past spammers?

The BOTs are counted as users but back then there was only about 50 known bots there is about 1500 now . As I do this post there are 3 BOT on the forum they come under 3 registered users, the 1 hidden was me and the other 10 were readers most of them on the History pages and FAQ You can see who is on the site at the bottom of the opening page (see below) if I go into the logs I can see where they came form and were they went on the site, all down to IP tracking and cookiesGill the Piano wrote:But sometimes when there are a lot of 'visitors' on together, some of them are some sort of spy thing rather than real people. A couple of Christmases ago I PM'd a few of my old friends to wish them a merry Christmas and to ask them what they were up to and were they still playing piano. Nobody replied.
