Ronisch Upright #47052 from Carnegie & Sons

Post by Shay »

I have a Ronisch Upright Iron frame with Dresden gold seal and royal crests on the inside. On the righthand panel is the Serial No.47052 and on the left side of piano marked into a wood section to back left of the strings is the No.106. I'm wondering how old this piano is approximately. Can you help please?

PS: It also has marked just above the keyboard that the sole agents were Carnegie & Sons, Melbourne Australia... a search showed that they were around as early as 1850 in Melbourne. The front of my piano has beautifully carved panels unlike any piano I have seen before, however, it doesn't have candle holders on the front. I will check in again tomorrow for any replies or advice. Thanks.

Re: How old is my Ronisch Upright with Serial No.'s 106 & 47052

The main number suggests that your piano was made in 1908, but pianos often have several numbers inside.
