Collard Piano Query

Post by graemer »

I have a Collard & Collard upright piano that I want to dispose of. I have found number that I think is the serial number, it is 157204 which is on the metal frame of the piano.

Just wondering how old the piano is and is it of any value.

The number suggests 1897, but without photos, I cannot say whether this is likely to be correct. You could email photos to me. Victorian pianos have very little value in Britain unless they have been professionally restored.

It looks like a possible 1897, although the underdamper action was a surprise.
