John Brinsmead and Sons #49195

Post by Nataliya »

Hi,

Could you please help me to find any information on my piano.

I have an old piano from John Brinsmead and Sons, London.

I have located the serial number. It is 49195.

The text that I found says:

“Established in the reign of King William the Forth
By Special Appointment to H.R.H. the Prince of Wales, H.R.H. Princess of Wales, H.R.H the King of Portugal, H.R.H. the King of Sweden & Norway, H.R.H. the King of Bavaria & H.M. the King of Italy.”

and:

“H.J.Goulden, 39&40, High Street, Canterbury; and at Aschford, Madstone, Dover, and Tunbridge Wells”

Would you kindly let me to know the history and the age of the piano.

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards,

Nataliya

HJ Goulden( later Goulden and Wind) also had shops in Ramsgate and Deal.
The last one was in Canterbury in the High St and Mr Goulden retired and sold the shop inabout 1980
I took over from him as Hon local rep for the Associated Board exams
Our mission in life is to tune customers--not pianos.

Any fool can make a piano-- it needs a tuner to put the music in it
