knabe piano

I have recently recieved a piano built by the knabe corporation. The model number reads 19435 gold medal It is rosewood and also reads woehlen or woehler on the back. I was wonering if any one had any history/ information on this piano .

The number suggests that your piano was made around 1878, but pianos often have several numbers inside, so I can't be sure. We have no funding for research abroad. You could enquire whether the Knabe company's archives still exist.
