Smith & Barnes

Post by MIZPLACED »

:piano; Hello,
My first time posting here. I have an upright piano. Serial nr. is #77184. Under the front cover it states '
FULLY WARRANTED SMITH & BARNES PIANO CO. CHICAGO
' then in the center beneath this lettering is the serial nr. 77184. :piano; It has all of the keys both white and black and they are ivory. Also, I have the piano bench. Can someone tell me when it was made and the approximate value, it is in fair condition, considering it had been sitting on the front porch of a residence for over 20+ years disregarded. :roll: I purchased it at a yard sale at this house for only fifty dollars and the owner of the piano seemed greatful to get rid of it and was thanking me for being so generous in paying fifty bucks for it. Wow! I am hopeful that this will prove to be a perfect case of someone's trash being another's treasure. :lol: Any info would be helpful & appreciated.
:lol: :piano;

Nobody is going to guess the value or condition without tuning it. We are based in the UK, so we are not well placed to advise you about Smith & Barnes, we don't see them over here, but the number suggests that it was made in 1906.
