Leswein from Swan, Manchester

Post by MICHAILM »

Hello
I have my Piano for about 20 years now. I would like to sell it but it does not have a serial number nor could I find anything about it in the Internet.
There is a sign that says: Leswein / William R. Swan 328 Oxford Road Opp. Royal Infirmary Manchester. When I look up the address in the internet I can only find a Cafe. It is a small upright Piano with 7 Octaves. Can anybody tell me anything about it? Thank you very much.

Leswein is a London name, no dates of serial numbers are available. In about 1905, Renn, London, were taken over by Brooks Ltd., who made piano actions, then they used the name Leswein. Swan was the retailer, in Manchester. Have a look at my Datemarks page at http://www.pianogen.org
