Brietmann London

Post by simonc »

Hi

Would someone be able to give me a rough idea of the age of my upright piano? It is marked Brietmann London, on the far left it also says 'REGISTERED DESIGN Nos 800114 & 794830' & on the far right is says 'Binns Ltd'

I am not able to upload photos to this but could send them via email.

Many Thanks

Simon

Brietmann is not thought to be a real maker, some were made by Kemble in the thirties, and may have a number preceded by the letter K inside, at keyboard level, at the left end. Otherwise, have a look at my Datemarks page at http://www.pianogen.org or you can email photos to me. The registered design numbers which appear on many of them do not help us.

Thanks, I can't tell you much from a photo of the number, but it suggests that the piano was made by Kemble in 1938.
