Rowland Warner - London
Post by guardsman9636 »
Dear Sirs,
I've had an upright 48" piano for some years now, it's been used and tuned regularly by the family, and still has a rich sound. It has a walnut case, and mother of pearl inlays in decorative panels. It is stamped with the number 5761 in the top left of the frame,
I'm struggling to find any reference to this manufacturer on the internet and wondered if you could help with it's history.
Many Thanks
Andrew

The vast majority of piano names are not listed on the net, and many names are meaningless aliases. It is not possible to date Warner pianos by their numbers. I have no record of a real maker by this name, all I can tell you is...
Circa 1910 #9800 Rowland Warner, London, piano "By Royal Letters Patent, Upright Iron Grand". It was untuneable when it was sold for £350 in 1995!
