G. Wolkenhauer of Stettin

Does anyone know anything about the Wolkenhauer pianofabrik from Germany. I have searched for two days now trying to find information about my piano with no results. The company no longer exsits, or there is no information on the internet about them. I would like to know something about its history. from Germany

All I can tell you (apart from the comments at the top of the forum) is that G. Wolkenhauer was established at Steetin in 1853, and was still in business in 1928. I have never seen one of their pianos.

Was there any more info on these pianos/ I have come across one in Kelowna Canada. It is still in good condition.

Hi everyone,
just stumbled upon this thread of a few years old...
I'm not a historian but want to throw in a word to support this piano maker.
We have had a Wolkenhauer upright piano for about 40 years and I have never heard a more pleasant tone. it dates back to 1910 and was cleaned and conditioned in about 1980s. It is still in good shape and plays beautifully. The tone is slightly mellow, deep and incredibly rich. Having looked at many pianos by now Wolkenhauer still is my top. The only similar tone I could hear in a rare gem Bosendorfer grand piano from the early 1900's that used to be hosted by the Grand Hotel in Vienna. Truly amazing sound. Bravo, Wolkenhauer, such a shame they did not continue making instruments.
