Carlisle Chicago & Muskegon

I was given this upright piano several years ago, and I know nothing about it, I am trying to figure out how old it is. I have searched the internet, but found nothing on the name Carlisle, or Chicago & Muskegon. The numbers "77467" are carved into the inside of the piano in an oval opening. the keys are ivory, and I think the half notes are ebony. It looks like the wood is cherry, with a mohogany finnish, but I can't be sure, some one did a lousy job of restaining it. I believe it has grand piano strings, as it is a very tall upright piano. The only picture I have of it, is actually of my cat lounging on the bench, but I will give a link to that picture anyway, if it can be of help.

As to the bass strings they are bass strings, the only difference between grand and upright strings is the length, looking at the size of the piano I would say that the bass strings are just as long as a baby grands and that is probably the sales pitch that was used

The number suggests 1918, but very little is published about Carlisle. Strangely, their numbers cover the period around 1911, when Alfred Dolge doesn't list them as makers.

Open up the piano, so you can see the strings. There should be an oval section somewhere in the middle above the strings - that's where you can find the Serial(?) number. Good luck!
