Date of Manufacture? Ennis & Co. #28571

Post by odeus2 »

I have a reconditioned Ennis & Co. piano with a serial number of 28571 stamped on the inside. I understand Ennis & Co. pianos were made in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada until 1911 and then R.S. Williams acquired the rights and continued to make pianos under the Ennis & Co. name in Oshawa, Ontario until the mid 1930's. Since the company has been gone for so long, I'm finding it very hard to determine the age of the instrument. Can anyone help?

If that is the serial number, I have no idea of date. Look around for 6-digit numbers. The published information may well be wrong, because there are plenty of Ennis pianos around with numbers ranging from 20k to 70k.
