What do I do next?

Post by trinworthy »

I have been offered a Raymond & Co upright piano by a neighbour. It is very out of tune. The woodwork isn't in particularly good condition, but the keys seem to work OK and the pedals. My young children would like to take piano lessons, so I just want something that will be OK for them to start on.

I'm going to arrange for a piano tuner to come and have a look, but am after some ideas of how much I should expect to pay for such a piano. Would a piano tuner be able to advise on this when they have seen it?

Many thanks,

Yes, only a piano tuner who actually inspects it can advise, but even if they reckon it is worth having, I doubt it will be worth a lot from what you have described.
