I recently got this knight upright console piano as a gift from a friend who doesn't play. It was purchased by his dad in 1963. I'm pretty sure the keys are not ivory, but it plays nicely and has a big sound. I'm wondering about the age and whether these pianos originally came with ivory keys. On the left hand corner of the keys cover is embossed the phrase " Made in England expressly for the American climate" Thanks Phil

No, your piano would have been supplied with acrylic keytops. By that time only the top end pianos were still being fitted with ivory.

The number suggests 1956, but it should be dated. Have a look at
