KOLSKI PIANO
I am a long way from the U.K. but have been unable to find any information on a piano I have. Its brand is " GEBR. KOLSKI" and from research so far is apparently turn of the century, iron frame upright , beautifully made and has been in my family since it was given to my mother by her mother as a wedding present in 1939... and I am nearing 70...
with the help of friends in the piano game, I have had the 'rack' out and replaced all the tapes and springs but not the felts. All the interior wood parts are 'slice cut' and of high quality...All the strings are in good order.
The cabinet is ornate and I think of cherrywood. Interior hammers seem to be of cedar.
Would anyone know the history of the brand [ German / Polish ] and the possible current value and [ possible] rarity? . Thanks for any info...Puggsy

I have no information on Kolski, but rarity has no cash value. The piano was probably made in Germany around a century ago, and "gebr" also suggests that it is German. The Pierce Piano Atlas has a reference which simply says "Kolski - see Rachals". Typically for this book, it makes no reference to Kolski under the heading Rachals.
