Going to buy Yamaha U1

Post by tryer »

Hello,
Im going to buy a Piano here in Philippines,

I saw their showroom, and nice to be true because celebrities are their customers.
I touch their U1s and i dont know if its nice for a good pianist but for me its perfect although its used.

And one thing I want to ask is,
What year does 6Million Serial numbers are? I think the one will be sold to me is beginning with 62, Im not sure with it but I only assure is beginning with 6 and million according to them because its going to be delivered in their branch and to be delivered to us costing 3,308.48 USD, is it worth it for me? A used U1 and 6 Million serial number?

The sound for me is enough, but I dont know the new one because the one ived touch was sold, so they are going to get one for me on July 10, I cant wait.
============================================================
Ok to be short,

The piano Im going to Buy

Model: U1
Serial Number: 6Million
Price: about $3,300 USD

Question:
Is it nice to be true or is it worth it for me?

The age is OK at the end of 2004 they were at 609***** as to price can't say don't live in your country so would not know what is a far price. I would get a tuner to look at the piano before you buy

Thank You for reply,

Kindly elaborate?
to price can't say don't live in your country so would not know what is a fear price
And, I almost compare all the price here in the WWW, and almost P160,000 All (PHP).

But, I dont know how to watch piano, Does pianist is enough to see the piano if its worth it? Since, I saw their pianos, most of it, Grands, and the polish is very shiny and finger prints free. And their customers are almost Politics and Celebrities (singers), but that's not enough to say that their piano is High Quality, they are just Importing for what I know.

I ask them if who made that piano, they said Japan, and tropicalized for Philippines and the like.

What is the difference between Japan and American made?

If Im not mistaken, the serial number is either 62***** / 602****, good to hear that its 2000s not 1990s. So its almost new.

You need a local tuner to look at the piano before you buy as there are extra problems that can effect pianos in your part of the world. Termites, moths and other creepy little thing that eat pianos and of course the extreme humidity

Someone who know what they are looking for the piano is not that old so should be OK but you have the problem outlined above in your part of the world
