Vose & Sons piano
Hello all, I just bought a Vose & Sons 1851 upright piano. It is antique white, has all keys intact, and has three pedals. The serial number is 91508. It is peeling and chipping in places. The finish looks like its crackled. Is this its original finish or has it been painted? Is this worth restoring? Is it worth selling? Any info. would be greatly appreciated!

It is most unlikely that anyone would use numbers like 91000 in the very first year the firm was established, and this number suggests a 1924 piano. Dates written on pianos are rarely the date of manufacture, see the Datemarks page on my website. Being based in the UK, I have no experience of Vose pianos.
