Hofmann baby grand

Post by anita696 »

I was wondering about the age of my baby grand piano. I'm from Croatia and had this one for 15 years now (it was a heritage sort of). My piano is completely out of tune, and I was said there can't be parts found for it because of it's age, and the parts that should probably be replaced are no longer available.
Anyway, I couldn't find any marking with it's origin, except something that I suppose should be it's serial.
On the front board it says: Hofmann in Wirn. K.K. a. pr. Piano; Forte - Fabrik ; the number on the inner left side is 692.
If somebody understood what I just wrote, and shares some information I would be thankful.

"Pianoforte fabrik" implies that it is German, but unfortunately, there are so many pianos called Hofmann, Hoffmann, Haufmann, Hauptmann etc., it is difficult to sort it out. We have a Hofmann upright piano which is definitey British, about a hundred years old.
