James Semple square / portable piano

Is it a square piano, or a Dulcitone with tuning forks instead of strings? Semple sold these, but they were made by Machell. James Semple appeared around 1890, and had a number of branches by 1900. By about 1910, the name was John Semple, presumably his son. Therre was also a firm called Semple Ferguson around the same time.
