What do the 3 Crowns mean on a Ronisch piano ?
Can anyone please tell me what the 3 Crowns represent on a 3 Crown Ronisch piano ? I have one of these beautiful pianos, and am delighted with it's lovely tone and "touch". I know the 3 Crowns are a sort of Royal Warrant from the crown heads of Europe in past times, but have no idea of exactly which crown heads are represented. TY in advance for any info you can supply.

It is not uncommon for pianos to use pictures of crowns and portraits of royalty for trade marks, or in illustrating medals received at exhibitions. You say that you know it is a royal warrant, how do you know? Ronisch was awarded several medals for his pianos, and medals often have pictures of kings, queens and heads of state.

Re: What do the 3 Crowns mean on a Ronisch piano ?
Hello Dot,
Perhaps I can help, I had the same question but didn't get any satisfaction here so did my own research. The following is what I found out from the Ronisch company, an excerpt from my blog.
"I found an old beauty, a three crown Ronisch, made about 1905. It cost me AU$3,600 but worth every cent, it has a wonderful, rich tone. The crowns signify that Ronisch was the appointed supplier of some royal courts such as Saxony, around 1870, Sweden-Norway 1890 and Austria-Hungary 1901. The arms of the courts are stamped inside the piano".
I hope this helps.
