Waddington's Piano Works, Scarborough

Post by m.mccooley »

I'm currently researching a film of the Waddington's Piano Works located in Scarborough. The film was taken c. 1932. Does anyone have any information on the industry or the actual factory itself?

I am wondering if any one would be interested I have two photos, one of my great grandfather Richard Hart in the player-piano department the other is of my grandfather Leonard Hart , Back Making both in 1920. My family also have the indentures of Leonard I think. Christine

Anything to do with piano history is always interesting to me. It is so difficult to find apprenticeship indentures, and in 46 years, I have only obtained a handful. Is there any chance you could sell me some good colour photocopies or scans? My email address is below.
