Re: Grade II: Mazurka
Yes I can but I am first and foremostly a pianist. In the last 10 years, I've had to play an organ less than 10 times - usually at the funerals where emotional musician friends who can't cope with the service.StuartAU wrote:Our MArky Mark is director of teh Church aswell? does he play pipe organ
I have held a music director role in three different churches over the last 10 years.

As dave says, Northern Ireland.StuartAU wrote:Where is your church (roughly), i would ask & pay just to have a go on it!
For a contemporary sound, the Hammond organ a nice addition - although we don't have one in our church. They are very common in USA churches be the church congregation used to a modern or traditional worship/music style. Pipe organs over there don't cope very well with the extreme heat, humidity or excessive dry heat (depending on the state).dave brum wrote:And quite a few (I know of one) have manual organs with bellows pumped either by the players' feet or by a second party - and consequently sound strange when played.
Re: Organs
Funny enough i was supposed to be visiting southern ireland in a few months as i traced my ancestory back to early 1800's Count Clare.. I played tehn local church organ about 6 years ago but could only play a few nips n pics and would love to have another go...

Re: Organs
Have you ever heard of Cameron Carpenter?
He is something else! A conservatory star organist with prodigious skill - very exceptional.
His pedalling and foot work is amazing.
