How do I find the model for a Grotrian Steinweg
I am curious to find the model of my piano, and to learn a little about it. The serial number (2213) dates it to 1873. It is a huge upright (described as an 'upright grand') in a walnut case.

Unless the model number of name is written inside the piano somewhere, probably right near the top, your only hope is that someone may have a catalogue of their 1873 models, so that you can recognise it. Not all pianos have a model. I think that is going to be hard to find! Later, Grotrian used the height of an uprght in centimetres, or the length of a grand, as the model number.
