How to make a child interested in playing the piano
Hi guys,
I have a new student (10 y.o.) who is reluctant and has got no initiative and interest in playing the piano. He says he enjoys to play his play station and watch TV. But his father wants him to take Grade 2 exams. He doesn't really want to notice his son's feelings..
I'd like to ask if anybody has any suggestions on how to make him enjoy playing the piano. I suggested to learn a song he likes, but he can't name one..
Thanks

One local teacher here uses theme tunes from the kids' favourite telly programmes; it's amazing how many reluctant pianists actually want to play when given the choice between Dr Who and Diabelli.
I play for my own amazement...
