brand new U1
Post by MA. CECILIA M. DE MESA »
good day to everyone. are there still brand new yamaha U1 models for sale?
Good day to you, Ma.Cecilia!
Yes, the model is still available in the UK, but it's very expensive here. List price is now £7.139. Not sure whether you'll see similar price rises in the Philippines, but prices here have just risen by 10%.

The opinion above is purely that of PianoGuy and is simply the opinion of one person ....
If you're buying a piano, try as many as you can and buy the one you like, not a similar one of the same type.

I'll double check but I don't think so.joseph wrote:PG, I think thats the YUS1 at that price. The U1 is about a grand less. Isnt it?
List price was 6,499. Knock off Darling's VAT reduction then add 10% for the Yam price rise and I think 7,139 is about right!

No. They're good enough to warrant them if prepared perfectly. It's only the commonplace discounts that make you think they're a cheap brand. Kawai's prices are exactly comparable, and in general the pianos not quite as good.joseph wrote:do you ever get the impression that yamaha are taking the p*&s with their list prices.
I know one dealer (admittedly just the one!) who regularly sells at list or just below, although he is meticulous with prep and aftercare.joseph wrote:actually, does anybody anywhere sell these pianos at full price.
£21,229 for a new C3M.joseph wrote:I guess a C3 will be hitting £20k soon. Ouch!
Worth every penny if perfectly prepped, but about £16k if quickly tarted up and pushed out the door.
Sadly the dealers who try hard have to attempt to give good service and match discount prices, which is getting harder if not impossible.
