My grandfather, Albert Biggs, played the piano and I understand had his own jazz band in the 1920's as well as other times during his life. He came from Camberwell, and accompanied silent films in local picture houses. Towards the end of his life during the 1960's, when I was a very young boy, I recall his band playing at a Lombard Children's Christmas party. I also remember my grandmother once telling me that he used to visit Archer Street in Soho where the Musician's Union was located.
I wonder if his name will ring any bells with anyone out there?
Albert Biggs
