F. Whitford & Co. Piano
Does anyone know anything about this piano? I have been searching forever and come up with nothing.
The sale agents were J. D. Cuthbertson & Co. and beside that it has:
Glasgow
Ayr
Paisley
Inside the piano - which is an upright - I found a signature that says Whitworth and elsewhere inside was another hand written name of which I could not read and a date of of 1959. All look like they were written in pencil.
I cannon find a serial number anywhere.
I want to sell it but would like to be able to tell potential buyers something about it.
If anyone can help me I will greatly appreciate it!
Thanks

Whitworth / Cuthbertson

A handwritten name inside is not a usual way of indicating a maker, what's the main name on the front? The retailer would be Cuthbertson, who were around from the 1890s to at least the 1930s. Serial numbers don't help. I'll see what I can find on Whitworth, is there an address? The only other way to find more is by inspection or photos. The action may have information on the rear.
