Replacement Key for a Rogers Piano

Post by Distorted Vision »

Hi,

We've lost the key for our Rogers upright piano. Here is a photo:

I don't know what the model is but the serial number is: R58058

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a replacement key. We desperately need one as my 2 year old nephew seems determined to try and break it!

It's a standard "one size fits all" key.

Check whether you need a key that is barrelled (hole in the end) or solid by looking up the keyhole and checking whether there's a visible shaft to locate in the end of the key. From recollection, Rogers keys are solid.

Once you've determined what you need, call your local piano tuner who is likely to carry spares or have the odd old one kicking about!

I noted a short while back that the subject of lock-keys was addressed by the experts in another interesting thread.

I was playing the piano in a zoo, when the elephant burst into tears. I said, "Don't you recognize the tune?" He replied, "No, I recognize the ivories!"
