W.H Paling
Post by samhenrynug »
Hello.
I was given a "W.H Paling & co, limited" upright piano 3 years ago by a priest's wife. She is well in her 70's and had bought it second hand as a teenager. When I lift up the top, it says "W.H PALING & CO. LIMITED PATENTED IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND" on the top row, then "MADE IN USA", followed by a code number of 75123 and a "VICTOR ARTIST MODEL" badge. 89 keys. Any information, e.g age, value, company would be marvellous.
thanks from Ethan

Victor Palings 1950s
The term 'Artist Model' generally meant that the piano was a tall upright. Most likely the strings overlap, which tends to give a much richer tone. In regards to age, the serial numbers for 1950 started at 74700. In 1951 the serial numbers started at 75900. With this in mind, I would say that your piano is dated circa 1950. Not too sure re value.
