We used to have an old one like that! not sure how old it was, it was my dad's. It was the first thing I used before I got my Casio keyboard, but It was realy old and it started playing up after a while, then it died... :(

It used to make a loud sound inside it as if it had a fan in side it. It had a piano sound and a harpsichord sound, can't remember if it had hammer action keys but I think they looked like piano keys. Can't remember the make, shame.

dave brum wrote: yeah, they had reeds and fans in them which is how the notes were produced. Before the age of microprocessors - unsophisticated or what!!
Really :!: :?:  well that explains the fan noise then! Yeah its an brand new kind musical instrument, completely in it own category! Or would that make it a reed instrument?

I would love to own a Stylaphone ( is that how you spell it? :? ) That little electric hand keyboard you used to make a tone with a pen? Rolf Harris made them famous. Theres one in the Museums of Brands in London, well the box of it is.

I used to have, and still have it, a tiny keyboard; I loved the Beethoven demo of Ode to Joy on it! I got it when I was 6! it still works! ha ha I just don't know why I didn't make the conection with my interest in pianos when I was young and then say ' mum, dad I want lessons ' they would of paid for me! took me sooo long to realise!

Really? I might just buy one, when I have a disposable income! Yeah I have head about Major Morgan The Electronic Organ, it was on a program about annoying kid's toys and the guy in the program, used the Major Morgan as the solo instrument with a small symphony!

I would prefer a Major Morgan or Stylaphone to Guitar Hero any day!
The advert for it makes me crack up laughing because its soooo rubbish!

Just looked in the Argos catalogue, to buy a Wii and then Guitar Hero etc would cost more then a goodish guitar starter kit!

I know what I would buy my kids!...a REAL guitar, and some lessons.
