"Cottage" was the normal term for victorian upright pianos, and the number suggests 1879, but it is probably dated on the side of the top key. No-one anywhere can trace the life history of every piano, but Broadwoods can search for the original sale details, and I can supply general information about Broadwoods and their pianos.
