Getting new parts for an old Brinsmead will be very expensive the older the action the more the expense and if it is one of the step down actions a new Beam rail will set you back &500 + on it own

The best way to do it if to fit a complete new action keys and dampers Langer have a form you fill in with some very detail measurements However, setting up an action in an upright piano is a walk in the park compared to setting up a grand action - not only are the dampers more involved so is hanging the hammers and then you have the key leads, in uprights it is one size fits all not so in grands each of the up and down weights have to be calculated and leads added and the regulating has to be spot on
