Ah!

Found it. Item number 220256533252
F*** me, Reg! He's a total nutter.

Look at the standard of restringing in this photo. Image
His restorer should be effing well shot. This is a prime example of why eBay is such a bad idea for buying a piano. This idiot clearly believes that this work is good.

Actually, at least he bothers to restring now. If it's who we think he is, time was when he just sprayed gold paint over the pins. And any other bits of action he felt looked tatty...I've tuned a few of his 'victims'. He used to sell Letrasetted 'Stienway' pianos. No, that's not a typo...

Raymanboy

Post by D.J.Smith »

Unless I'm very much mistaken, I visited this chap earlier this year to look at a small Bluthner. It was in a derelict and damp bungalow near Wisbech. He reckoned HE had rebuilt it with new action standards, pins and strings etc. Just 'needed the case repolishing'. He also partially retuned it whilst I was there, and seemed to do that ok.

I didn't buy it!

How can you be mistaken!!?? His style is inimitable.

Is English his first language?

Piano Guy : I doubt there are two of them but you never know! He doesn't speak the way he writes, seemed a perfectly reasonable chap to me, just a trifle eccentric.

He's probably of Polish descent, but I didn't quiz him on his family background, only that of the piano.

Figures.

His restoration is of slightly poorer quality than a Legnica piano.

why not just write 'for sale, grand piano in worse condition than it was before I botched it, would look nice in a strip club, £10 000'

It would be more honest! Vernon would I know this stringer in scotland? PM me if you cant say on here (just so I know NEVER to let him anywhere NEAR my piano)

He is just hanging on to reality by his fingernails.

Technology helps and hinders - but at the end of the day, you need a dollop of common sense or you are officially "stuffed".

Good technology - This forum, email, Portsmouth Football club home page.

Bad technology - Emails about little blue pills which will change our life. It allows people in Nigeria to tell us they have won the lottery and just need us to send 3000 pounds to release the winnings - oh and Satnav's

Anyone who interracts with this man, having read the bizzare and disturbing description of the piano. well, not a lot of sympathy from me !
