Brinsmead & Sons piano
Hi I am wondering if any one can help me, we moved into a house recently and there was a piano left. It is a Brinsmead & sons upright piano, dark wood with flower inlays on the front. On the inside of the lid it also says "made expressly for William Wigg" with an address. There is a number on the top of the inside right panel 39912 and a number on the top left 912. The piano itself on the outside is relatively good but the keys inside need some work, several keys are jammed and some have no sound. Is this a quality make of piano, is it worth getting it repaired and what do the numbers mean, is this a date. I would be very grateful if anyone could help.

The longer number is probably the serial number, and removable parts would be marked with the last three digits. This one suggests a date around 1887. The sticking notes might be a five-minute job, or may be the tip of the iceberg, you need to ask your tuner. Where was Wigg located?
