Help i broke a piano key at school (i a** slid it)

Have you knocked off the sharp and if so do you still have it then get your tuner in if the key has split then it needs repairing not replacing – keys are made in sets for each model and on older pianos they were cut by hand so middle C for one lets say Rogers will not fit the next Rogers in the assembly line well not with out a bit of fiddling so you can’t just ask for a key number 40 for a whatever it just don’t work that way

Broken keys in schools is quite common I do at least 1 a year and I don’t do many schools I have about 40 on my books
