Eavestaff mini piano string replacement
Post by David von Janowski »
I have the task of replacing the 'middle C' string on my loved one's Eavestaff 'pianette' mini piano.
1) Can anyone advise on where to obtain a replacement string.
2) Is the piano worth 'repairing'? Having trawled the forums there appears to be conflicting opinions about this. The piano is to be used for lessons rather than 'serious' playing.

The tuning pins are under the keyboard.
The alternative is to buy something like a secondhand Bentley 6 octave small piano which I believe to be an 'acceptable' instrument, for less than the cost of a string and tuning the Eavestaff.
Many thanks to all those who replied.

The piano has been identified as having the serial number 2427 so may have been made in around 1934... so..... perhaps after all replace the middle C string and have it tuned. Not sure if such an old piano is that rare. Does anyone have any ideas ?

No, it isn't rare, but has antique interest. As a piano, though...no, sorry!
